The German government will provide aid worth $534 million to finance Indonesia’s geothermal energy development programme. A project site has been identified at Seulawah Agam in Aceh province for the development of a geothermal plant. Indonesia has the world’s largest geothermal energy reserves estimated at 27,000 MW. The government is now seeking assistance from the private sector and foreign investors to tap into this potential.
