Malasyia-based Genting has awarded a USD1 billion contract to Wison New Energies for constructing a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility in Indonesia. This deal involves an engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) contract worth USD962.8 million, with additional reimbursable costs up to USD70 million for a 1.2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) FLNG unit.

The project is slated to take 27 months from the contract’s execution with an 18-month warranty period. The facility will then be towed to its final location at Teluk Bintuni, West Papua, Indonesia, with a target to be completed by Q2 2026.

The FLNG facility will process feed gas from the Asap, Merah, and Kido structures in the Kasuri Block, West Papua, awarded to Genting Oil Kasuri (GOKPL).
