Myanmar’s state-owned airline, Myanmar Airways has signed a lease with GE Capital Aviation Services for two Embraer 190 aircraft as part of its fleet renewal programme. The aircraft will replace the airline’s present fleet that consists of Fokker 28 aircraft. The first Embraer 190 aircraft will be delivered to the airline in November 2012, followed by the second one in December 2012. Services with the new aircraft are expected to commence at the end of 2012, and the aircraft will be employed on both domestic and short-haul international routes.
