General Electric International and the Electricity Regulatory Authority of Vietnam have signed a contract to develop a wind grid code in Vietnam. Funded by the US Trade and Development Agency, this project involves the assessment of Vietnam’s current wind power capabilities and strategies for expansion. The country has a 3,000 km coastline and experiences an average wind speed of 7 metres per second. Vietnam has two major wind farms, the 30 MW farm in Binh Thuan province and the 16 MW farm in Bac Lieu.
