Garuda Indonesia has been awarded 5-Star Airline rating by Skytrax for the second consecutive year. The award was presented at the Changi Exhibition Center during the Singapore Airshow, 2016.

The 5-Star Airline certification was awarded following the Skytrax audit, with comprehensive points covering all service aspects – pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight, including ground handling services, lounge, seat and cabin comfort, in-flight meals and in-flight entertainment.

Garuda Indonesia currently has six subsidiaries with diverse business sectors: Garuda Maintenance Facility AeroAsia, which specialises in integrated aircraft maintenance, including engine and aircraft components repair service; Citilink, which is a low-cost carrier airline for budget travellers; Aerowisata, which specialises in hospitality, transportation, catering and travel services; Gapura, which specialises in ground handling services, supported by cargo and warehousing services; Asyst, which specialises in IT and consultation service; and Abacus – now Sabre Travel Network Indonesia –  which is a technology service provider for global travel and tourism.

As part of a fleet revitalisation programme throughout 2016, the Garuda Indonesia Group will receive 16 new aircraft – one Boeing 777-300ER, four Airbus A330-300, four ATR72-600 and eight Airbus A320 (to be operated by Citilink). By the end of 2016, the Garuda Indonesia Group will operate a total of 188 aircraft: 144 aircraft for Garuda Indonesia and 44 for Citilink.
