Garuda Indonesia has won the Best ASEAN Airlines programme award at the 30th ASEANTA Awards for Excellence, 2017, held in Central Jakarta. Garuda Indonesia has won the award for best service standard in flights in Southeast Asia.
Malaysia-based airline AirAsia won the award for Best Marketing and Promotional Campaign. AirAsia’s campaign named “Think Asean, Think AirAsia” was conducted in August 2017. It included a photo book and social media posts about must-see places. There was also an ASEAN-inspired in-flight menu, a YouTube video series on places and cuisine and insanely low airfares for travelling around the region.
The annual award was initiated by tourism practitioners in ASEAN countries. The award had six categories, namely, Best Article, Best Tourism Photo, Best New Tourism Attraction, Best Airline Programme, Best Cultural Preservation Effort, and Best Marketing and Promotional Campaign.
