Garuda Indonesia Airlines has been conferred the World’s Best Cabin Staff award by Skytrax London. Prior to this award, Garuda Indonesia won the World’s Best Economy Class award in 2013 and the World’s Best Regional Airline award in 2012.
The award was given to Garuda Indonesia based on a global customer satisfaction survey conducted by Skytrax of more than 18 million passengers between August 2013 and May 2014. Garuda Indonesia introduced its Garuda Indonesia Experience service in 2009. The service blends Indonesia’s warm and gracious hospitality with the airline’s professional service.
Further, the airline has implemented a series of measures and training courses for its personnel to ensure safety. Staff have been trained in a safety management system to provide them with a safe and healthy work environment. The carrier also undertakes regular safety audits on the safety management system which review all aspects to improve the overall level of safety and minimise accidents due to organisational factors.
Recently, to better serve its Chinese passengers, the airline has begun recruitment of Chinese flight attendants. It has so far hired 35 Chinese crew members. Further, Indonesian immigration officers have launched an on-flight visa application service for Chinese passengers on board flights from Shanghai to Jakarta.
