Gamuda Bhd Singapore (GBSG) has secured a USD509.568 million design and construction contract from Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) for works on the Cross Island Line Phase 2 (CRL2) mass rapid transit (MRT) line. The scope of the contract includes the construction of the West Coast underground station and two tunnels, spanning around 1.9 km.
The works will commence in Q1 2024 and are expected to be completed by 2032. GBSG will use two slurry tunnel boring machines for the tunnelling works while station excavations will use rock removal.
