US-based First Solar Group has decided to spend more on its solar panel project at the Dong Nam Industrial Park in the district of Cu Chi. The company will invest an additional $62.2 million in the project, taking the total investment to over $1 billion.
In addition, the annual capacity of the project will be revised to 5.31 million modules from around 2.7 million modules in the initial plan.
The plant is expected to be put into operation in September 2018 and its products will be shipped to other countries, including the US and those in Europe.
