The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has announced plans to develop four new expressways across the country totalling around THB120 billion. This includes the Chalongrach expressway, a 16.2-km-long extension project from Chatuchot to Lam Luk Ka which will be developed at an investment of THB19 billion. 

Bids for works on the structure are currently open while the project is in the final stages of drafting its Terms of Reference (TOR) for contractors. Construction is expected to commence in 2024 and will be concluded by 2027.

The second 17-km-long double-deck expressway from Ngam Wong Wan to Phaya Thai to Rama IX will be developed at an investment of THB34 billion. The third 11.3-km-long expressway is a part of the northern highway and will connect Prasert-Manukitch Road to the Bangkok Eastern Outer Ring Road and will be developed at an investment of THB16.96 billion.

Meanwhile, the fourth expressway will be developed in two phases. Phase 1 of the Phuket expressway will span 3.98 km from Kathu to Patong and will be developed at an investment of THB14.67 billion and Phase 2 will span 30.62 km from Muang Mai to Koh Kaew to Kathu and will be developed at an investment of THB42.63 billion.
