The Express Authority of Thailand (EXAT) had commenced public hearings for the development of the Koh Samui bridge in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani and Koh Samui. The hearings will be focused on the engineering, financial and environmental impact of the infrastructure project.
The bridge will span 20 kilometres connecting mainland to Koh Samui. The bridge will provide an option for overland transportation and air and ferry links. The expected cost of construction and acquiring land is THB33.9 million. Works are scheduled to commence in 2028.
