Southern Power Company, a subsidiary of state-owned Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), has begun the construction of the 110 kV Ha Tien–Phu Quoc Island grid connection project. The 55.8 km interconnection project is being implemented as an EPC contract by Italy’s Prysmian PowerLink SRL. The project, worth 2.47 trillion dong, is mostly funded by the World Bank. The line is expected to be commissioned by April 2014 at the latest.
