EVN plans to link its Thai Binh 2 TPP that is being built by the state-run Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) to the national grid in 2015. According to the agreement, the National Power Transmission Corporation, a subsidiary of EVN, will connect a 1,200 MW coal-fired plant to the national grid via a 220 kV network. The $1.6 billion TPP is expected to generate 6.7 billion kWh of electricity annually.
