EVN aims to connect the Phu Quoc Island to the national grid by 2015. The Southern Power Company (SPC), EVN’s wholly owned subsidiary, plans to commission the 110 kV Ha Tien–Phu Quoc submarine power cable by the end of the year. The project is being implemented as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Italy-based Prysmian Power Link SRL. The project, worth 2.47 trillion dong, is mostly funded by the World Bank.
