State-owned Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has started work on the distribution efficiency project (DEP). Under the project, the company will build and upgrade 110 kV lines and transformer stations, as well as medium and low voltage lines in 19 northern and central provinces of the country. The total project investment of 16.61 trillion dong is split between several parties:
- World Bank – Official Development Assistance from the International Development Association: 10.15 trillion dong
- Clean Technology Fund: 622.97 billion dong
- Australian Agency for International Development – a non-refundable loan: 161.14 billion
- Vietnamese government: remainder.
