Saigon Jim Brother’s Corporation (EVM), Solarvest (Vietnam), and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy in Vietnam. The partnership leverages Vietnam’s Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) mechanism, introduced under Decree 80/2024/ND-CP, allowing large electricity consumers to purchase renewable energy via the national grid.
The collaboration focuses on deploying the virtual DPPA model to supply green electricity from utility-scale solar farms to EVM’s operations. This approach addresses regulatory, financial, and technical barriers to renewable energy adoption. Solarvest, with over 1,300 MW of clean energy projects in Asia-Pacific, and PECC2 bring their expertise to support EVM’s sustainability goals, aligning with global net-zero targets.
