The Energy Development Corporation (EDC), Philippines, the largest renewable energy company, won a Bronze award under the carbon disclosure category at the fifth Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards. EDC’s award-wining report demonstrates the organisation’s leadership in sustainability reporting and its commitment to create long-term value for stakeholders. The company’s total installed renewable capacity stands at 1,475 MW, accounting for 37 per cent of the country’s total renewable energy. Further, its 1,181 MW geothermal portfolio accounts for 61 per cent of the country’s geothermal energy.

The Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards recognise and celebrate best practices in sustainability reporting in Asia. A rigorous mutli-tier evaluation process consisting of three rounds is followed to select winners for each award category. In addition to assessing the report quality,  comprehensive due diligence is also carried out. The winners for the 2019 awards were selected by an independent judging panel from 461 entries received from 16 countries.
