Singapore’s electricity industry regulator, the Energy Market Authority Electricity has approved tariff hike of 1.5 per cent for the April–June 2013 period. The justification for the increase stems primarily from rising fuel prices and increased infrastructure investments to meet high electricity demand during this period. Therefore, an average household will pay 26.7 cents per kWh from April to June, compared to the earlier 26.28 cents per kWh.
