Electricity tariff in Singapore is set to decline by 2.9 per cent between July 1, 2013 and September 30, 2013. The decline is due to the lower costs of natural gas used for electricity generation. The price of natural gas fell by 5.1 per cent during April–June 2013, compared to the January–March quarter. The decline in tariff will be from 26.7 cents per kWh to 25.95 cents per kWh. Establishments covered under the Housing and Development Board will witness a reduction of S$3.8 in their average monthly electricity bills.
