The Vietnam Railway Administration (VRA) is planning to develop a 37 km railway line to connect HCMC to the upcoming Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai province. The rail line that has 18 stations will run parallel to the existing HCMC–Long Thanh–Dau Giay expressway. Further, the VRA plans to develop seven more rail lines to link HCMC with its neighbouring provinces of Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Long An, and Tay Ninh by 2020. The total cost of the eight rail lines is estimated at 341.3 trillion dong.
