The European Investment Bank has provided an additional loan of $171 million for the development of Hanoi Metro Line 3. The loan amount will be used to deploy signalling technology and procure rolling stock. The line will span 12.5 km (8.5 km elevated, 4 km underground) from the Nhon depot to the Hanoi station, covering 12 stations. The construction is estimated at $1.4 billion and construction is expected to be completed by 2021.
