The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) issued a tender for a single cargo of LNG to be delivered in mid-March 2024. The tender exercise is set to close on January 16, 2023, and the winning bidder will be announced on the same day. The confirmation notice with the preferred supplier will be signed between January 17-21, 2023 and the deadline for submission of a standby letter of credit by the preferred supplier is between January 22-26, 2023.
During 2023, EGAT issued three tenders for single cargoes as well as strip cargoes over four years. The three tenders were awarded at a discount to JKM and the six cargoes are expected to be delivered between 2024-2027.
