Dr Sim Sitha was appointed as Director General of Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA) in 2012 succeeding Ek Sonn Chan and has served three terms with the agency. Under his leadership PPWSA recorded positive revenue despite the challenges faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while also recording improved water quality and increased access in the region.  At the start of 2020, the agency announced its plans to supply potable water to 100 per cent of the capital’s residents by the end of 2030. It has also announced a series of new projects to upgrade the current water treatment infrastructure in the Phnom Penh area.

Southeast Asia Infrastructure sits down for an interview with Dr Sitha to ask him about his goals for the agency during the decade and the road ahead for PPWSA.
