The Department of Public Works and Highways is undertaking repair activities amounting to PhP 125.8 million for 10 bridges in Zamboanga City. Repair works on the Johnston Bridge at Barangay San Jose Gusu is nearing completion; most of the other bridges under repair should be ready by December 2013. The other bridges are located in the municipalities of Talisayan, Tarling, Curuan, Mialim, Sangali, Tictapul, Vitali, Tigbao, and, Cawit. The repair works of most of these bridges involve the widening and replacement of slabs.
