The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has proposed a PhP 54.53 billion budget for improving transport infrastructure projects in 2015. This allocation is 15.1 per cent higher than the PhP 47 billion allocated in the 2014 budget. Of the total amount proposed for 2015, PhP 37.7 billion (70 per cent) will be allocated for infrastructure projects. This is in line with DOTC’s thrust to improve the institutional and regulatory environment of the transport infrastructure sector to ensure that the rights and privileges of all stakeholders are protected.
