The Department of Energy (DOE) has issued certificates of commercial viability for 26 renewable energy projects entailing a total capacity of 669.15 MW. These are: six wind projects with a total capacity of 389.5 MW, 12 hydro projects (153.35 MW), three solar projects (80 MW), and five biomass projects (46.3 MW).Construction can now commence for these projects.  Moreover, feed-in tariff rates, approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission, will be made available to these developers: run-of-the-river hydro projects (PhP 5.9 per kWh); biomass (PhP 6.63 per kWh); wind (PhP 8.53 per kWh); and solar (PhP 9.68 per kWh).
