The Department of Energy (DOE) has approved the proposal of five energy companies to undertake a system impact study for the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines. The renewable energy (RE) projects that were cleared have a combined capacity of 900 MW.

These include two solar projects owned by Victorias Green Energy Corporation, Solar Philippines Commercial Rooftop Projects Incorporated’s 560 MW Tayabas solar project and a 20 MW solar project owned by Bohol Renewable Energy Corporation. Victorias Milling Company Incorporated’s 70 MW biomass cogeneration plant has also been approved.

In December 2022, the agency approved grid impact studies for 10 projects, including six wind power projects.
