DICT signs memorandum of agreement with Philippine Fiber Optic Cable Network Limited Inc.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the HyalRoute Group’s subsidiary, Philippine Fiber Optic Cable Network Limited (PFOCN). The MoA aims at strengthening network connectivity in the Philippines via PFOCN’s fibre optic cable network investment valued at $1 billion to $2 billion that will be implemented in a phased manner between 2019 and 2028. As per the agreement, the DICT will provide assistance to PFOCN in procuring the required permits and licences to lay the network.
