The development of the RM 3 billion deep-water terminal at Malaysia’s Kuantan port is expected to commence at end-2013. The project, undertaken by IJM Corporation Berhad’s Kuantan Port Consortium Sendirian Berhad, involves the development of a pier, the delivery of equipment, and dredging works; it should be completed within two–three years. Upon completion, the terminal is likely to double the port’s annual handling capacity to 52 million freight weight tonnes.
