The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has approved credit assistance worth PHP152 million to the Batangas Transport Cooperative (BATRASCO) to finance the acquisition of 85 modern public utility jeepneys (PUJ). The vehicles will be deployed across six towns in the Batangas region.

The loan was approved under DBP’s Program Assistance to Support Alternative Driving Approaches (PASADA). The program aims to modernise the Philippines’ public transport system by financing sustainable and green vehicles. As of October 2022, around PHP7.56 billion was disbursed under the PASADA for multiple modernisation programmes across the country.
