Department of Land Transport to be the new regulator for Bangkok’s public bus transport system

The Thailand government has transferred BMTA’s role as the regulatory body for public buses plying in Bangkok to the Department of Land Transport. While earlier BMTA was functioning in the capacity of both operator and regulator of public buses in the city, now it will now only act as the operator. The decision has been taken to increase the efficiency of the city’s bus transport operations.
