The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has signed three contracts with a combined value of THB2.6 billion for project management and construction supervision of the Bangkok MRT Purple Line southern extension.

The first contract valued at THB1.1 billion was awarded to a consortium comprising MAA Consultants, Index International Group, PSK Consultants, PPSN Company Limited, and Sea Consult Engineering. The second contract was awarded to the Asian Engineering Consultants, Tesco, Utility Design Consultant, IT International, Project Planning Service and Integrated Engineering Consultants consortium worth THB959 and the final contract worth THB561 million was secured by Chotichinda Consultants, Wisit Engineering Consultants, and IT International.

The Bangkok MRT Purple Line southern extension will span 23.6 km from Tao Poon to Rat Burana and cover 17 stations. Six civil works contracts for the project have already been awarded and construction is expected to commence in July 2022. The project is expected to be completed by 2027.
