Malaysia Rapid Transit System Sdn Bhd has awarded a RM604.86 million contract to RM Sunway Construction Group Bhd for works on the Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS Link).

Under the project’s Package 1B and Package 5, the company will be responsible for the construction of station and viaducts as well as terrestrial viaducts and ancillary structures for the rapid transit line.

The RTS Link Project is a 4-km-long railway shuttle link between Malaysia and Singapore. The line will have two stations, Bukit Chagar Station in Malaysia and Woodlands Station in Singapore.

As of March 2023, work on the project is 45 per cent complete. Once the line commences operations in 2026, it will be able to transport around 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction.
