The Government of Vietnam has commenced construction works of transportation projects to support national economic growth. The country aims to complete 50 major projects in 2025, including sections of the North-South Expressway and the Ho Chi Minh Road. Significant aviation projects, such as Terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and a new runway at Long Thanh International Airport, are also being prioritised.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has been actively inspecting these projects, emphasising the need for rapid completion. He directed authorities to finish connecting the Ho Chi Minh City-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh Expressway before the end of this quarter and urged Dong Nai province to complete Long Thanh Airport by 2025. Vietnam has already built over 2,000 km of expressways and plans to add 3,000 km within the next 500 days, with a long-term target of 5,000 km by 2030.
Government support, streamlined land acquisition processes, and increased infrastructure funding have contributed to the acceleration.
