Quang Binh province has broken ground on the $90 million Hon La International Port, a major infrastructure project covering 39 hectares in Quang Trach district. Designed to serve the Hon La Economic Zone and regional trade with Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar, the port will be developed in two phases.
The first phase includes two berths totaling 470 meters, capable of handling vessels up to 70,000 tons, with an annual capacity of 3 million tons. The second phase, scheduled for 2027, will add two more berths, accommodating ships up to 100,000 DWT and doubling the port’s capacity. The project aims to enhance trade and maritime tourism.
