The Mass Rapid Transit Authority (MRTA) Bangkok Expressways and Metro Private Limited (BEM) have signed a contract and approved the construction of the MRT Orange Line project in Bangkok. The Orange Line will span 13.4 km, covering 11 underground stations extending from the Thai Cultural Centre to Bang Khunnon.

The Orange Line is divided into eastern and western sections, with the eastern segment already completed, featuring 10 underground and seven elevated stations over 22.5 km. Construction on the western section had been stalled due to legal disputes initiated by the Bangkok Mass Transit System Private Limited (BTSC) over the MRTA’s bidding process changes. The upcoming construction will not only cover the western section but also include the installation of the electrical and control system for the entire line.
