Construction works on the Jakabaring solar power plant in South Sumatra will commence in January 2017, once land acquisition is finalised. The administrative team of South Sumatra has met Japan-based Sharp Corporation to discuss the technical construction of the power plant and draw the timeline for its completion. The plant will be constructed to meet energy demands during the upcoming 2018 Asian Games. The project involves the development of a 2 MW generator to supply power to the Jakabaring Sports Complex in Palembang.
