Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has announced that work will begin in early 2026 on a new pedestrian and cyclist bridge connecting Marina Centre to Gardens by the Bay’s Bay East Garden. Slated for completion by 2029, the bridge will enhance connectivity across Marina Bay, improve accessibility to the upcoming Founders’ Memorial, and support events such as marathons and the Singapore Grand Prix.

The bridge will run parallel to the Benjamin Sheares Bridge and aims to be a visually distinctive feature in the Marina Channel, with a lightweight, floating design that complements the surrounding skyline. It will also accommodate people-mover systems like buggies for easy transit between Marina Centre and Bay East. During construction, contractors must ensure minimal disruption to marine traffic and maintain public access via alternate park connector routes.

The project is subject to coordination with stakeholders, including Sport Singapore, PUB, the National Parks Board, the Defence Science and Technology Agency, and the Singapore Tourism Board. The tender, open until August 7, 2025, also mandates specialised roles in lighting, landscaping, and arborist services to ensure the bridge’s environmental and aesthetic integration.
