Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (SAP) has rescheduled construction works for the deep-water port terminal in Sihanoukville to mid-2022 due to the changes to the layout of the deep port. Once construction works commence, it is expected to take three years to complete. Works of the port was previously scheduled to commence in mid-2021.
The deep port terminal will have a length of 350 metres and depth of 14.50 metres. The port project will cost USD218 million, with funding from Government of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA). Following the completion of the layout design, the port will conduct a public bidding process to select a construction company.
