Construction for the new Dara Sakor International Airport (DSY) in Cambodia has been completed and will be operational by the end 2021. Once operational, it will be the fourth international airport in the country. The airport was initially planned to commence commercial operation in mid-2021 but the opening has been delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic related restrictions. The new date for DSY to start operations has been revised to November 2021.

The airport project is being developed and managed by China-based Tianjin Union Development Group (UDG). In 2008, UDG secured a 99-year contract for the airport with an initial investment of USD200 million. The company also plans to create a Cambodia-Chinese Investment and Development Zone close to DSY, featuring a free trade zone, shipping port, and coastal resort.

The DSY is located in Koh Kong and it spans 4.5 hectares and will be able to service 10 million passengers once operational. It will feature long-haul aircraft such as the Airbus 340 and the Boeing 777 along with small and medium-sized aircraft such as the Airbus 320.
