Independent power producer Constant Energy has secured THB300 million in green financing from HSBC to expand its portfolio of solar and battery storage projects in Thailand. The financing facility, structured as a green guarantee and Standby Documentary Credit (DC), will support the development of rooftop, ground-mounted, and floating PV systems.

Thailand’s Power Development Plan targets 15.6 GW of solar capacity by 2035, equivalent to 20 per cent of national generation. Constant Energy said the partnership with HSBC will accelerate its mission to deliver renewable energy solutions to clients, enabling lower electricity costs and reduced carbon emissions.

Founded in 2017, Bangkok-based Constant Energy operates large-scale solar, wind, and battery storage projects across Asia. The company currently manages a 210 MW solar portfolio in Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Belgian holding firm Virya Energy, which acquired a majority stake in Constant Energy in 2023, is supporting its regional and global expansion strategy.
