A consortium comprising France-based Systra SA, Minconsult and Bureau Veritas, has been appointed to certify the safety of the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link ahead of commencement of passenger services in 2026. The consortium will serve as an independent verification and validation (IV&V) agent for the rail project between Malaysia and Singapore.

The IV&V agent will be responsible for ensuring that the RTS Link project is completed in accordance with the safety criteria and regulations. This involves determining and certifying that the RTS Link is safe to operate as a passenger rail system before its opening.

The RTS Link is a 4 km rail shuttle service with a 2.7 km portion operating in Malaysia and the remaining 1.3 km operating in Singapore. Stations of the rail network will be integrated with regional transport services in both the countries.
