CIMB Group Chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Razak has been selected by the Trustees of Asia House in London to receive the Asia House Asian Business Leaders Award for 2015 in recognition of his achievements during his 26-year tenure at the CIMB Group. According to Asia House, Nazir spearheaded the CIMB Group’s transformation from a boutique Malaysian investment bank to Malaysia’s second largest financial services group, the fifth largest bank in ASEAN, the largest Asia-Pacific-based investment bank, and one of the world’s largest Islamic banks.
Razak will receive the award at an event to be held at Westminster’s Banqueting House in London, England, on October 13, 2015. The CIMB Group operates in the high-growth economies of ASEAN. Malaysia is now chair of the 10-nation grouping.
