A Chinese consortium led by the China Railway Corporation has announced plans to bid for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high speed rail (HSR) project. The consortium comprises eight companies, including CRRC, China Railway Construction Corporation, China Railway Signal and Communication, and the Export-Import Bank of China and will undertake the design, construction, telecommunication, financing, operations and maintenance of the HSR network. The last date for submission of bids is June 29, 2018. The HSR line will span 350 km and cover eight stations (seven in Malaysia and one in Singapore). It is scheduled to open in 2026.
