Laos has appointed Chanthaboun Souk Aloun as the new managing director (MD) of Electricite du Laos (EDL), the state enterprise that owns and operates electricity transmission and distribution in Laos. The change in the leadership of EDL has taken effect from June 13, 2020. Previously, Chanthaboun served as director general of the Planning and Cooperation Department, Ministry of Energy and Mines, Laos.
