Changi Airport witnessed passenger traffic of 4.3 million during January 2013, 1.9 per cent more than in January 2012. Cargo volume stood at 140,297 tonnes for January 2013, constituting a year-on-year increase of 2.5 per cent. A total of 28,203 aircraft were handled at Changi Airport. According to the airport authority, growth in air travel demand was strongest for Australia, Japan, and Thailand among its top 10 country markets: traffic to and from Sydney, Tokyo, and Bangkok increased by over 10 per cent.
