The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has allocated an additional SGD2 billion for the Changi Airport Development fund for the construction of the planned Terminal 5 in Singapore. Works on the new terminal will commence in 2025 with the facility opening to passengers around the mid-2030s.
Land preparation and drainage works have been completed. The project was delayed by two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The terminal project is being executed by the MoT in collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Changi Airport Group (CAG).
