The Changi Airport Group has awarded the construction contract of the fourth passenger terminal (T4) to Japan’s Takenaka Corporation. The contract that is worth S$985 million involves the construction of a 68 metre ramp control tower; road improvement works; a multi-storey car park; an open-air car park with a capacity of 1,500 vehicles; and a two-storey holding area for taxis to pick up arriving passengers. T4 will have a capacity of 16 million passengers per year. Construction work is likely to commence in the first quarter of 2014 and be completed by 2017.
