China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN) has signed a project development agreement with the Government of Laos for the development of a renewable energy (RE) base in the country. The base will have wind, solar, hydro and energy storage capabilities, and will power the existing line which transfers power generated in Laos to Yunnan province in China, and a planned second 500 kV power line.
The signed agreement advances a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the proposed RE base signed between CGN and the Government of Laos in October 2022.
