Cambodia’s leading telecom company, Cellcard has again been named as the country’s fastest mobile network provider. The company was confirmed as Cambodia’s Speedtest Award winner for mobile network speeds, based on analysis by US-based Ookla between July and December 2019. Ookla is the global leader in fixed broadband and mobile network testing applications, data and analysis and awards the fastest mobile networks in a country.

Cellcard has retained the title since its first Speedtest Award in April 2017, following its aggressive 4G roll-out. According to the company’s report, Cellcard achieved an overall speed score of 14.92 with average download speeds of 16.31 Mbps and average upload speeds of 14.32 Mbps. Meanwhile, other telecom companies like Smart Axiata and Metfone achieved scores of 12.9 and 5.91 respectively. Cellcard’s network is the fastest in a number of major cities including Phnom Penh, Poi Pet and SreiSisophon in BanteayMeanchey province. The company has also successfully concluded the first stand-alone test of its 5G network with speed reaching an impressive 1.6 Gbps.
